Old School Guide Service is located an hour west of Kansas City. Mike Nickels is a third generation Jefferson County, Kansas native and Mike’s family roots are deep in the hunting tradition.

Unit 10 in northeast Kansas, provides some of the best habitat for legendary big bucks as well as Eastern Turkeys. Old School Guide Service offers hunting packages in Jefferson County, picked by many “As the Most Likely Area in the State to Produce Trophy Bucks.”

Limited access hunts will insure a large population of healthy game whether you are after that once in a lifetime buck, or a 20 plus pound tom turkey. We are a small outfitter that will provide you a remembered hunt, aka vacation with comfortable lodging, and the opportunity to bring home a trophy deer or turkey.

Nearby Lawrence, Kansas offers the easy-going charm of a smaller town combined with big city cultural opportunities complete with quaint shops restaurants, coffee shops and the activities of the University of Kansas.

Old School Guide Service aggressively manages its land resources for wildlife habitat. Wildlife habitat design and farm management has gained Old School Guide Service access to additional property to offer hunts for Trophy Whitetail and Turkey. Habitat management plans are tailored for each property to provide a balance of travel corridors and food plots.
